Poem #13

1.

We buy all the cars

We own our insanity

Grease stained directions

2.

We take all the pills

Awaiting the salvation

A horse in long pants

3.

Distant thunderstorms

Folding fox hunt pajamas

Communion of sparks

4.

Radio static

Is this the end of the world

Raining cats and dogs

5.

All the prisoners

All the cancer survivors

The peg legged captives

6.

Between beauty and sorrow

In the crevices she lives

A camellia

7.

All misguided bombs

And all our misspent rockets

We love our fireworks

8.

Our own private lens

We step on all the bases

They will build our walls

9.

Weed out the garden

Nickels flipped against the curb

A breakfast in bed

10.

They will come for you

Will be a songsters refrain

Put you in a box
